Idea Description

Silky's idea's good--here's some more.

Increase working from home, through the Internet.

Look at why people prefer cars to public transportation. They want to bring stuff from home? Then add luggage racks to buses and commuter trains. They like the privacy of cars? Then add premium cars to commuter trains, for an extra fee, that provide privacy.

Plan cities with attractive pedestrian/bike networks.

Offer random surprise benefits on public transportation--gifts, coupons, special events. If people ever know when they'll happen, they'll ride every day just in case.

Idea Description

Here is an easy solution... there are so many companies that have working hours 8:00/9:00 to 5:00/5:30, and it's not always necessary depending on the type of position. If they allowed more employees to work their 8 hours utilizing their own schedule, the work could get done, the employee is happier, therefore, the employer is happier, lightens the congestion. :)
