In a global economy it's crazy that we don't take anthropology seriously! How are you going to sell to people you don't understand? And it's not just the marketplace--how many wars could we prevent, how much terrorism, if we actually understood each other? 9/11, for instance could have been prevented if we'd known that our (reasonable in our own culture) interactions with Afghans fighting the USSR made them feel like jilted lovers? From innocently communicating something other than what we intended?

Every multinational corporation needs an anthropologist on staff. So does every government--or an anthro department. Diplomats should have anthro degrees. Why isn't this obvious?

Idea Description

What part of reality are you trying to understand, move humanity forward?? We can't be happy it seems. We are so far advanced in Science now, we're exploring in areas we have no business in, over our heads per-say. Explore fertilizer, that's what we can do for humanity, learn to feed the hunger, learn to help the homeless, the parent-less, too much emphasis on Science now, we've got plenty of resources to do what is at our fingertips. Helping others, that is what our main priority should be, that is reality. I understand reality, I understand humanity... we all do.
